BIRTH TEST

Once you have discovered your Birth Number, forward this email to the rest of your friends, including the one who sent this to you.
Put your number in the Subject and Pass it on! Have fun! Your birth date describes who we are, what we are good at and what our inborn abilities are. It also points to what we have to learn and the challenges we are facing. To figure out your Birth Number, add all the numbers in the birth Date together, like in the example, until there is only one digit. A Birth Number does not prevent you from being anything you want to be, it will just color your choice differently and give you a little insight.

Example March 20, 1950
3 + 20 + 1950 = 1973
1 + 9 + 7 + 3 = 20
2 + 0 = 2

Keep going until you end up with a single digit number.
2 is the Birth Number to read for the birth date in the example.

milk splash

i helped out my dad on this soy milk packaging job the other day.  it was fun but really messy and stinky. s soy milk is gross.  but the splash's came out pretty cool.  this shot obviously wouldnt be used, it's way too freaky looking, but i liked it

blah

ooh what a rough saturday night. my brother's 30th birthday party. i tripped in the dark on some plastic chairs and cut my hand and bruised up my arm. fun times. drinking is no good. today was spent on the couch and eating way too much.

on a better note, i submitted my work to this gallery. they finally got back to me and want 3 framed images for upcoming shows and 2 matted ones to keep on file to show guests. freaking awesome. the stuff they chose seems weird but whatever. this gallery is all photography based and even though i haven't been there (it's up near albany, ny) i'm pretty sure its a good place to have my stuff.

ryan, if you're reading this, they want this image matted and framed....you'll be a purchasable (word?!?) piece of art now! :)

maya's

i saw a cool show on the history channel last night about the maya's. they predicted a time of re birth in 2012....

End of the world?

The end of the 13th b'ak'tun is conjectured to have been of great significance to the Maya, but does not necessarily mark the end of the world according to their beliefs, but a time of re-birth. According to the Popol Vuh, a book compiling details of creation accounts known to the Quiché Maya of the colonial-era highlands, we are living in the fourth world. The Popol Vuh describes the first three creations that the gods failed in making and the creation of the successful fourth world where men were placed. The Maya believed that the fourth world would end in catastrophe and the fifth and final world would be created that would signal the end of mankind.

The Classic Period Maya obviously did not believe that the end of this age would occur in 2012. According to the Maya, there will be a baktun ending in 2012, a significant event being the end of a 13th 400 year period, but not the end of the world.

music

hmm i was going to write a blog about downloading music but i guess that might not be a good idea. anyway, anyone listening to anything good that i should buy? (not download)  i need some new music.

red's

hmm this is weird, but i like it. it's 4 consecutive macros of paint being poured into a glass of water. i wanted to use food coloring but was too lazy to buy some so used paint instead....i was about to give up because i had to hold the light and pour the paint, and then take the picture. but it turned out that the paint didnt dissipate as quickly as i thought it would, so it somewhat worked. for some reason, the red looks more orange on here. whatever. i'm done for today.

60s 70s stripper polaroids

i just came across these photos on flickr, they're pretty interesting. i'll just copy and paste what she wrote:

These came from a collection of over 400 Polaroid photos of strippers trying out for dancing jobs at a So. Cal club. They were taken from the late 1960's thru the early 1970's.

I decided to create a new Flickr account to share this collection with other photographers. They document fashion, interior decor, and a time when bodies were for the most part, natural. The Polaroid film makes for an even more nostalgic feel.

The main interest I have with these photos is the esthetics of an era, not just as titillation. As an artist and photographer I find these women beautiful, daring and sometimes desperate. Each woman here has a story, and each one deserves our respect.

question mark in the sky

i havent posted a picture in awhile, so here is one i took last weekend at hammonasset:

question

i thought it looked like a question mark in the sky. kinda cool. if anyone cares, i converted the picture into a tritone, which means its three different tones. thought it would look more interesting this way than just a regular black and white.

bad dreams

wow i just remembered i had this terrible dream last night, but i have no idea what happened in it. i remember waking up and wanting to write it down but of course didnt. i really wanted to remember it because i knew it was important. damnit. maybe i'll remember some of it later. either way it sucked.

camping

i want to go camping at hammonasset (in madison) in august for a couple of days. you're all invited. it should be pretty cheap.  we could go swimming too..the beach is pretty close to the campgrounds.   i'm going to go find a tent.

i think we should get one like this:

and we should invite these peeps:

and my dog will come too:

milli vanilli

wow. i'm really hungover. fiona apple was pretty good last night, though i think the sound was fucked up, she was pretty loud. she's also pretty wacky and pissed off, but i like that about her. my brother, my sister in law and i hung out at the mohegan sun bars and were being pretty obnoxious to people, but it was fun/funny. we met some nice chinese people who were apparently coked up and talking way too fast for me. my dad gave away our two extra tickets to some sketchy guy who i thought was a scalper, but told us he was an undercover cop. lets see, what else? it was my niece's first concert, she'll be 11 in august. we were talking about everyone's first concert, and i think mine was the moody blues with my dad in new jersey....misty's was milli vanilli. well, back to work for me...i'm waiting for some frozen yogurt animal thingies to melt so i can take them out of the plastic and then photograph them.

2 fiona apple tix

i'm going to see fiona apple and damien rice monday (tomorrow) night at mohegan sun......i have two extra tickets, does anyone want them? $80 for both, paid $90 for them. decent seats, starts at 7:30........let me know, soon!

here's some pics from the weekend:
